Reason #1 - The SEPM doesn't actually trust the certificate. (The path in this case is the SQL server's certificate path to a trusted root certificate.) So far we've seen this error for multiple reasons. The basic premise is that the SEPM doesn't trust the SQL server's certificate. This error is actually rather generic and can be experienced for a variety of reasons.
